REcycle
Batteries can’t go in your regular recycling or household rubbish bin. When you throw batteries away, they end up in landfill, where they can cause harmful fires, and leach toxic materials into waterways and ecosystems. You need to drop your batteries to a B-cycle drop off point so they can be handled safely and responsibly. B-cycle is about creating a responsible battery lifecycle – from buying better batteries for the planet, to safe use, and convenient recycling. As a national, Government-backed Battery Stewardship Council authorised by the ACCC, B-cycle brings together everyone from importers, to retailers, to everyday Australians, to give dead batteries new life. Reusing the precious materials in every battery also means that we mine less from the earth, and can conserve nature and its resources. It provides accredited drop-off points across the country—at retailers, businesses, schools—for safe and convenient disposal of used batteries. The scheme ensures batteries are tracked and properly recycled, recovering materials and reducing environmental hazards. Funded by industry levies and government support, B-cycle aims to divert batteries from landfill, conserve resources, and build a circular economy. It also runs safety campaigns like "Tape Saves Lives" to prevent incidents during transport.
