The Bower is a not-for-profit environmental charity dedicated to keeping useful items out of landfill and into the hands of those who need them. We do this by making it easy for people to donate, repair, reuse and learn. Donate & Shop at either of our stores: Marrickville Store A haven for second-hand lovers, offering quality furniture, appliances, household items, salvaged building materials, books and more. Summer Hill Boutique Our boutique store features curated vintage and retro furniture, bric-a-brac, stereo systems and one-of-a-kind finds. Bower Bikes (at Summer Hill) Reclaimed bikes, affordable repairs, servicing, and regular workshops to get you rolling. 🟡 Bikes - We can help with all repairs from minor tweaks to full rebuilds and everything in between. 🟡 Electrical appliances -We can assist with a variety of small household electrical items, including: - Lamps – Plug replacements, faulty switches, or wiring issues - Microwaves – Blown fuses, malfunctioning door switches, or turntable problems - Toasters & Toaster Ovens – Faulty timers, blown fuses, or heating element failures - Blenders & Food Processors – Dull blades, motor failures, or broken seals - Vacuum Cleaners – Clogged filters, broken belts, or motor issues 🟡 Sewing machine - Brian Thomas – “Mr Sewing AU”, has over 50 years’ experience servicing all major brands. From a clean and oil to fault diagnosis, your machine is in expert hands.

🟡 Bikes - $15 (15 minutes) quick fix or repair assessment - $85 (60 minutes) Learn bike repair skills while fixing your own bicycle, with step-by-step coaching from our mechanic. 🟡 Electrical appliances - $40 (30 minutes) Quick fixes (small issues like faulty plugs or damaged cords) or repair assessment - $95 (60 minutes) 1:1 Guided electrical repair in which you'll learn to fix your own appliance with expert supervision. 🟡 Sewing machine service/clean/repair - $30 (45 minutes) includes cleaning, oil check, and a repair quote if required.
