REcycle
MobileMuster is a free, not-for-profit, government-accredited recycling program run by the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA). It is the product stewardship program of the telecommunications industry, and is accredited by the federal government. It is funded voluntarily by mobile phone manufacturers and network carriers. Its aim is to divert e-waste from landfills, recover valuable materials, and protect the environment. The program offers secure recycling—with over 3,000 drop-off locations and a free post-back option. We dismantle devices in Australia (some processing overseas), destroy any remaining data, and recover over 95% of materials, contributing to a circular economy and preventing hazardous waste from entering the environment. MobileMuster partners with charities to incentivise consumers and to thank them for recycling with us. MobileMuster supports the Salvos by giving $2 for every kilo of mobiles and accessories collected instore. MobileMuster partners with Zoos across Australia to raise much needed funds and support their primate conservation activities. You can drop your phone to Taronga Zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Safari Park, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. Or if you would prefer to post it, head to this webpage to download a package label for the zoo of your choice - https://www.mobilemuster.com.au/zoo-program/
