RE-Leaf for the Planet
RE-Leaf is a community environmental charity working to reduce waste and give unwanted items a second life. We accept a range of items that people may no longer need, including tricky-to-recycle materials, reusable household items, toys, books, pantry items and other goods that still have value. Rather than sending everything straight to landfill, we look for the most useful pathway available. Items that can be reused may be passed on to people who need them, redistributed through our community, or given a new home through our repurpose fundraiser markets and other initiatives. Pantry items can be redirected to people experiencing food insecurity, while toys, books, clothing and other usable goods can find new owners instead of becoming waste. For items that genuinely need to be disposed of, we look for appropriate recycling or recovery options wherever possible, particularly for materials that are difficult to manage through standard household recycling. Our approach is simple: reduce waste, reuse what we can, and find a better destination for the things people no longer want. By bringing items to RE-Leaf, you’re not simply getting rid of something — you’re giving us the opportunity to find out whether it can be reused, repurposed, redistributed or recycled.
