We are a shelter that has reunited, rehabilitated and rehomed lost and abandoned animals across Sydney for almost 80 years. We run as a council pound service, so most of the animals we care for are brought to us by council rangers. We also have a wish list of items that help us care for the dogs and cats in our shelter and vet clinic. If you have usable items that match our wish list, you can donate them to us. That includes pet supplies such as harnesses, leads, toys, litter trays and cat carriers. It also includes office and tech items such as office chairs, a used iPhone and photo or lighting gear. We take unused medical, dental and veterinary supplies and second-hand veterinary equipment too, but please contact us first so our vet team can talk it through with you. Our wish list is updated regularly, so check it before you donate. We take donations from the general public and the wish list is open to anyone. We are first and foremost an animal shelter, not a general op shop, so we can only take the items we have asked for. We reuse donated items directly in the care of our animals and in running the shelter and vet clinic. Our shelter is at Kurnell and is open to the public every day. Our vet clinic is still at Strathfield South. Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is an ACNC registered charity.
