The Nappy Collective
The Nappy Collective is Australia’s only nonprofit dedicated solely to collecting and distributing nappies to families in crisis, operating nationwide, all year round. We accept new, leftover, or outgrown nappies, and deliver them through our trusted network of charity partners. We are dedicated to reducing the impact of nappy stress in Australia - the devastating reality faced by parents who don’t have enough nappies to change their children as often as they need to. Our research shows around 280,000 children across 150,000 families experience nappy stress. For a sole parent living on the poverty line, nappies alone may take up as much as 9% of their weekly disposable income. Babies left in wet or soiled nappies face rashes, infections and serious discomfort, while parents endure impossible choices between food, medicine or clean nappies. The nappies are distributed to our Community Partners - organisations that support families in crisis or need, including women and children domestic violence refuges, emergency relief organisations, community pantries and organisations that support families experiencing financial hardship, homelessness or seeking asylum. We do not distribute nappies directly to individuals.
Accepted items
We happily accept unused nappies from open packaging - disposable nappies, swim nappies and pullups.
Condition of items
Usable
The nappies must be clean and unused.
Helpful tips
Separating any loose nappies by size into bags and labelling what size they are is extremely helpful too, as it makes life easier for our volunteers who sort our nappies ready for distribution to our Community Partners.
How to get items to us
We have a large number of Collection Points where you can donate nappies throughout the year.
