The Second Life Hub gives UNSW students access to free, second-hand stationery while reducing waste on campus helping you save money, stay prepared, and support a more sustainable university. We are the on-campus destination for free and affordable pre-loved goods - from homewares, small appliances, accessories, and of course still stationery. Whether you're moving into a new place, stocking up for class, or just love a good treasure hunt, we’ve got you covered. Everything is generously donated by students, staff, and the UNSW community to reduce waste, ease the cost of living, and give quality items a new home. It’s simple: take what you need, give what you can - every reused item means less going to landfill!

Accepted items

We accept everyday essentials that are practical, functional, safe to handle and still in great condition. Here's what we love to see: - Living essentials (e.g. lamps, storage tubs, laundry baskets, mini fans, coat hangers) - Kitchen basics (e.g. mugs, plates, cutlery, containers, basic cooking tools) - Small appliances (e.g. kettles, toasters, rice cookers) - Stationery & desk gear (e.g. notebooks, pens, folders, organisers) For a list of items we do not accept, please visit https://www.arc.unsw.edu.au/savers/second-life-hub/donations

How to get items to us

To help us manage donations smoothly, we kindly ask that all donations go through our form first. Link below. We’ll respond within 7-10 working days (we are all volunteers) to let you know if we’re able to accept your donation. We’ll include all the relevant details for next steps - whether it’s a drop-off instructions, postage info, or a note on why we can’t accept it. Please wait for our confirmation before dropping off any items. Make sure to send through a photo of the donation once you have submitted the form.
